League of Legends Server Transfer Guide

A League of Legends server transfer costs 2,600 RP for a one-way move and takes your champions, skins, Blue Essence, account level, mastery and most cosmetics to the new region. What it doesn't keep is your ranked result: you play new placement games on the new server, seeded from your hidden MMR. Transfers have a 90-day cooldown and can't be reversed or refunded, so it pays to understand the rules before you buy one.

What a server transfer is — and isn't

A server transfer moves an account you own from one region to another — say, from TR to EUW, or from LAN to NA. It's an official, paid Riot feature: same login, same collection, new region and player pool. It isn't an ownership transfer, which is when an account passes from seller to buyer through a credential handover; that's covered in our guide on how to transfer a League of Legends account.

People transfer to play with friends on another server, to get lower ping after moving country, or to join a busier queue.

How much it costs and how to do it

• Cost: 2,600 RP for a one-way transfer, according to Riot's Account Transfer FAQ. Check the price in your client before buying.
• Where: in the client store, under the account section, where you pick the destination region and confirm.
• Cooldown: 90 days between transfers.
• No undo: Riot says it can't reverse or refund an accidental transfer, so double-check the destination.

Ranked — the part people get wrong

Your tier doesn't simply copy across. Riot says you'll play all-new placement games on the new server, with seeding based on your current MMR compared with everyone on that server — so you can land in a different tier or division from the one you left. If you're chasing season rewards, finish what you need before transferring, or transfer at the start of a season when nothing is at stake.

The 2025 SEA server merge

On 9 January 2025 (patch 15.1), Riot merged the Thailand, Philippines and Singapore/Malaysia/Indonesia servers into a single Southeast Asia (SEA) server. If you played on one of those, you don't need a transfer to reach players from the others any more. Taiwan and Vietnam were not part of that merge.

How region affects an account's value

Region changes what an account sells for. On our marketplace on 25 September 2026, median asking prices ranged from about $14 on RU and $23 on LAN and LAS to about $35 on EUW and $47 on EUNE (asking prices, not completed sales). Because a transfer costs 2,600 RP and resets your placements, buying an account that's already on your target server is usually simpler and cheaper than buying elsewhere and moving it.
