Valorant's ranked ladder is steeper than most players think. The median player sits around Silver/Gold, Immortal is roughly the top 1%, and Radiant is just the top ~500 players per region each act. Here's the 2026 Valorant rank distribution — what share of players is in each tier, where the average really lands, and what each rank means for an account's value.

How Valorant's ranked ladder works

Competitive runs through nine tiers: Iron → Bronze → Silver → Gold → Platinum → Diamond → Ascendant → Immortal → Radiant. Every tier except the top two has three divisions (1–3). Ascendant was added in Episode 5 (2022) between Diamond and Immortal, stretching the upper-mid ladder. The top two ranks work differently: Immortal is rating-based (your Rank Rating keeps climbing), and Radiant is capped at roughly the top 500 players per region each act — a leaderboard, not a tier you simply reach.

Valorant rank distribution in 2026 (approximate)

These are approximate, region-wide ranges. Exact numbers move every act and differ by region; they come from Riot's own act summaries and community trackers, not from us. Read them as the ladder's shape, not precise figures.

TierApprox. share of ranked players
Iron~3–5%
Bronze~11–14%
Silver~17–20%
Gold~16–19%
Platinum~13–16%
Diamond~9–11%
Ascendant~3–5%
Immortal~1%
Radiant~0.03% (top ~500 / region)

Cumulatively: about half of all players are Silver or below, Platinum-and-above is roughly the top ~30%, Diamond-and-above about the top ~15%, Ascendant-and-above about the top ~5%, and Immortal-and-above only about the top 1%. Radiant is a few hundred players per region.

So what's the "average" Valorant rank?

The median ranked player lands in Silver or low Gold — the same surprise as League, where players assume "average" is higher than it is. Reference points (approximate, region-wide):

  • Gold — around the median to slightly above; a solid, common rank.
  • Platinum — roughly the top ~30%; clearly above average.
  • Diamond — about the top ~15%; a strong, recognizable rank.
  • Ascendant — about the top ~5%; the bar for "genuinely good."
  • Immortal — roughly the top 1%.
  • Radiant — the top ~500 per region; the absolute ceiling.

What rank means for account value

Unlike League, rank is rarely the main driver of a Valorant account's price — knife and skin inventory usually is. But rank still acts as a multiplier, and its scarcity shows at the top:

  • Iron–Gold accounts are common; their value comes mostly from skins, agents, and account level.
  • Platinum–Diamond accounts have steady demand as "above-average and ready to queue."
  • Ascendant, Immortal, and verified Radiant accounts carry a real rank premium because so few players reach them — especially with a verified peak.
  • Unranked level-20 smurfs are their own market, valued on readiness for placements rather than a displayed rank.

Why the numbers shift each act

Valorant soft-resets rank at the start of each Episode and Act, so distributions look bottom-heavy early and settle as players re-climb. Structural changes — like adding Ascendant — permanently reshape the curve. The exact percentages drift, but the shape (crowded middle, razor-thin top) is stable.

Frequently Asked Questions

What is the average rank in Valorant?

The median ranked player is in Silver or low Gold. Most players overestimate it — reaching Gold already puts you around or above the middle of the ladder.

What percentage of players are Immortal in Valorant?

Roughly 1%. Ascendant and above is about the top 5%, and Radiant is only the top ~500 players per region each act.

Is Diamond a good rank in Valorant?

Yes — Diamond is roughly the top ~15% of ranked players, comfortably above the Silver/Gold median and a common target for dedicated players.

How many Radiant players are there?

About 500 per region each act. Radiant is a capped leaderboard rank, not a tier you reach by hitting a rating — which is why verified Radiant accounts are so scarce.
