Riot은 랭크 큐가 열리기 전에 서로 다른 챔피언 20명을 요구합니다. 이것이 절대 하한선입니다. 하지만 진지한 랭크 플레이에는 20명으로 부족합니다. 주력 챔피언이 밴되거나 픽되면 그 주의 무료 챔피언에 의존하게 됩니다. 프로는 2~3개 역할에서 역할당 3~5명을 사용합니다. 랭크 상승을 위한 실질적 하한선은 보유 챔피언 30~50명입니다. 160명 이상 계정은 첫날부터 밴, 닷지, 편한 픽을 모두 감당합니다.
160명의 챔피언을 처음부터 잠금 해제하는 데 약 노멀 400시간 이상이 걸립니다. 챔피언마다 Blue Essence를 벌기 위해 필요한 시간입니다.
Riot은 의도적으로 진행을 느리게 합니다. 느린 파밍은 플레이어를 챔피언 캡슐 구매로 유도합니다. 160명이 미리 채워진 스머프는 파밍을 건너뜁니다.
라틴아메리카 북부 지역의 계정을 고르려면 마이애미(Riot 라우팅)에 대한 적절한 지연 시간을 가진 위치에서 플레이해야 합니다. 지역을 넘나드는 것(예: 브라질에서 EUW 플레이)은 기술적으로 가능하지만 150~250ms의 지연이 추가되어 대부분의 챔피언을 진지한 경쟁용으로 플레이할 수 없게 만듭니다.
