How to Check a Roblox Account Before Buying

Before you pay for a Roblox account, check three things: who can still get in (the email inbox handed over, or no email attached so you can add your own, and an account that was not stolen), what the account really has (join date, Robux, limited items with their RAP, the age group and no ban) and how you pay (money held until you have checked the account, with a dispute window). Treat RAP as a snapshot, not a price tag, and be careful with any account whose inventory is private.
Most disappointing Roblox purchases fail on one of two points: someone else could still recover the account, or the items were not worth what the seller said. This checklist goes through what to look at, in the order that matters.
1. Control of the account

2. The account itself: what you can actually verify
- Join date and account age. An older join date is what many buyers pay for. It doesn't change and it is easy to compare with the listing once you are logged in.
- Robux balance. The Robux on the account when it was listed. The Robux spent per experience only shows how the account was used; that Robux is already gone.
- Premium. Roblox stopped selling Premium on April 30, 2026 and replaced it with Roblox Plus. An existing Premium membership keeps its benefits until it is cancelled or a renewal fails, and Roblox doesn't let a cancelled Premium be restarted, so treat it as a bonus, not a lasting feature.
- Inventory value, offsale items and game passes. These show what was bought on the account over the years, including items Roblox no longer sells.
- Roblox age group. Chat features depend on the account's age check and age group, and the age group stays with the account. If the account has no age check yet, Roblox will ask for one before chat works.
3. Limiteds and RAP: read them carefully
Limited items are collectible avatar items that players can trade and resell on Roblox. RAP means recent average price: the average price a limited has recently sold for on Roblox's marketplace. It is the usual way to put a number on a limited, but it changes over time, so the RAP on a listing is a snapshot from when it was read, not what the items will sell for later.
RAP can only be read from a public inventory. When an account's inventory is private, nobody outside the account can list its limiteds. If a seller elsewhere claims valuable limiteds on a private inventory, ask for proof, such as a live video of the inventory with the account name visible. Old screenshots are easy to reuse. Also keep in mind that trading and reselling limiteds have their own requirements on Roblox, such as a completed age check and a Roblox Plus or legacy Premium subscription.
4. Paying and delivery
- Pay through a service that holds the money, so the seller is only paid after you have checked the account.
- Check the join date, Robux and limiteds against the listing before you confirm delivery.
- On day one, change the password, add and verify your own email, turn on 2-Step Verification and log out of all other sessions in Settings > Security.
- Never paste the account's
.ROBLOSECURITYcookie into any site or tool.

Frequently Asked Questions
Is a higher RAP always better?
Not on its own. RAP shows what limiteds recently sold for, and it moves. Compare it with the join date, the email status and the price of the account, and check that the inventory is public.
Is an account with no email attached a problem?
No, it can be the cleaner option: nobody else can reset the password by email, and you add and verify your own address right after delivery.
What if the account doesn't match the listing?
Don't confirm delivery. Open a dispute within the buyer-protection window instead.
