Fertilizer

Fertilizer is a consumable item you apply to plants to improve them, broadly covering the growth-boosting and mutation sprays available from the gear shop. Depending on the type, it can speed up how quickly a crop matures or increase the chance of a valuable mutation appearing.

Because fertilizer and sprays are consumed on use, players save the strongest ones for their highest-value crops, where a single extra mutation multiplier returns far more than the cost. Used well, fertilizer turns an ordinary plant into a much larger Sheckle payout, which is why mutation sprays in particular are treated as premium gear and frequently traded.
