Critical Strike

A critical strike (or "crit") is a basic attack that deals bonus damage, normally around 175–200% of the attack's value depending on items and runes. The critical strike chance stat sets how often this happens, from 0% up to a 100% cap.

Crit is the defining stat path for most marksmen, who buy items that grant both crit chance and attack speed so their auto-attacks reliably hit for huge amounts in the late game. Because the bonus is random until you reach high crit chance, the early game can feel swingy, but a fully built crit carry is one of the strongest damage profiles in the game.
