First Blood

First Blood is the first champion kill of a match, and it awards bonus gold on top of the normal kill reward. Because that extra gold arrives so early, it can give the killer an immediate item or level lead over their lane opponent.

An early First Blood often snowballs a lane: the player who scores it can buy stronger items sooner and push their advantage, while junglers frequently look to set one up with an early gank. Though just one kill, its timing makes it one of the most impactful single moments in the laning phase.
