Hextech Crafting

Hextech Crafting is League’s system of earning rewards without spending money. Playing well earns Hextech Chests, which need Keys to open, yielding shards you can turn into skins, champions, or other content.

Over time it lets dedicated players build a skin collection for free, including occasional rare drops. An account with a deep Hextech-earned collection carries real value, since those skins would otherwise cost RP.
