Loss Bonus
The loss bonus is the amount of money a team receives for losing a round, and it grows with each consecutive loss. In CS2 it starts low and climbs through several tiers up to a maximum, resetting back down once the team wins a round. This system keeps a losing team from being permanently priced out of buying weapons.
Understanding the loss bonus is central to economy management. Teams sometimes deliberately save (eco) to climb the bonus and guarantee a strong buy later, or weigh whether forcing a buy now is worth resetting their bonus. It is the mechanic that makes comebacks possible after a rough start to a half.
