Boosting

Boosting is paying a higher-skilled player to increase your rank, either by playing on your account or by duo-queuing alongside you. It is distinct from buying an account that already sits at the rank you want.

Boosting carries its own risks — sharing your login, and the rank often slipping once you play at it yourself. Many players instead buy an account already placed at the target rank, which avoids account-sharing entirely.
