MMR (Matchmaking Rating)
MMR, or Matchmaking Rating, is the hidden number a game assigns to estimate your skill. It decides who you are matched with and how much visible rank you gain or lose after each game.
Your displayed rank trails your MMR: win consistently and your rank climbs to catch up; a high MMR also means larger rank gains per win. Because it reflects real skill over many games, MMR is hard to fake and underpins how account value is judged at a given rank.
