Chargeback
A chargeback is a forced reversal of a card or PayPal payment, initiated by the buyer through their bank or provider after a purchase. In the account market it is the main source of fraud against sellers, who can lose both the account and the money.
To curb it, reputable marketplaces use vetted payment processing, hold funds in escrow, and verify both sides of a trade. Buyers acting in good faith are unaffected; the protections exist to stop the small minority who deliver-then-reverse.
