Gacha
A gacha system is a monetization mechanic where players spend currency to “pull” for randomized rewards, such as characters or equipment, with rarer items appearing at lower odds. The name comes from Japanese capsule-toy vending machines, where you do not know exactly what you will get.
Gacha games often feature “banners” that temporarily boost the odds of a featured character, and a “pity” system that guarantees a top reward after enough pulls. Because rare pulls are luck-based and can take heavy spending, accounts that already contain sought-after characters are widely traded as a way to skip the randomness.
