Pay-to-Win (P2W)

Pay-to-win, often shortened to P2W, describes a game where spending real money grants a genuine competitive advantage rather than just cosmetics. Examples include buying stronger gear, faster progression, or stat boosts that paying players cannot reasonably match through skill or time alone.

P2W is controversial because it can make matches feel unfair, and many players avoid games seen as heavily pay-to-win. The line is debated: purely cosmetic spending is generally not considered P2W. Buying an established gaming (general) accounts that already has the needed unlocks is one way players sidestep grinding or spending repeatedly in such titles.
