Whale
A whale is a player who spends unusually large sums of real money inside a game, often on cosmetics, gacha pulls, or in-game currency. The term comes from the casino industry, where “whales” are the highest-rolling customers, and a small number of them can fund a large share of a free-to-play game’s revenue.
Whales typically own rare characters, complete collections, and premium cosmetics that most players never obtain. That heavy investment is exactly why their accounts are so sought after on the resale market: buying a whale’s account is a shortcut to a fully stocked gaming (general) accounts without the spending.
