Passive Mode

Passive Mode is a toggle in GTA Online that protects you from other players' gunfire and most attacks while it is active, and prevents you from shooting them in return. It is designed as a defense against griefers, letting you move around a public lobby or run errands without being killed on sight.

It has limits: you can still be run over by vehicles, it cannot be used while inside many vehicles or during certain activities, and there is a short delay when toggling it. Players often combine passive mode with careful timing to protect expensive deliveries and avoid being targeted in open sessions.
