Battlemage

A Battlemage, also called a warlock, is a Mage subclass built to deal continuous area-of-effect magic damage from up close rather than bursting from safety. Battlemages wade into the heart of a fight and grind out damage over time, so they pack extra durability or sustain to survive being in range.

The trade-off is short range and limited escape: a battlemage that gets caught without its team is vulnerable. The reward is relentless area damage that can take over an extended teamfight. The class spans mid lane and top lane, and rewards smart positioning more than the pinpoint timing a burst mage needs.
