Crowd Control (CC)
Crowd control, almost always shortened to CC, is the umbrella term for any effect that restricts what an enemy can do — movement, attacking, or casting. It covers stuns, roots, slows, knock-ups, silences, and more. Teamfights in League of Legends are usually decided by who lands their key CC, because a controlled target cannot fight back.
Champions are often grouped by how much CC they bring. A team with reliable, chainable CC can lock down a priority target long enough to kill it, which is why “tanky CC” supports and junglers are so valued. Learning what each champion in your pool contributes is a core part of climbing.
