Knock-Up

A knock-up is a crowd-control effect that throws a champion into the air for a brief moment, during which they cannot move, attack, or cast. Functionally it acts like a short stun, and it is prized because it cannot be reduced by tenacity or removed by most cleanse effects.

Because knock-ups are so reliable, champions with strong area knock-ups are staples for starting teamfights — a well-aimed multi-target knock-up can disable an entire enemy team at once and set up devastating follow-up. This consistency makes them one of the most sought-after forms of CC in League of Legends.
