Peeling

Peeling is defending a vulnerable ally — usually the ADC — by using crowd control, shields, or your own body to stop enemies trying to kill them in a fight. Instead of chasing kills yourself, you keep the threats off your carry so they can keep dealing damage.

Supports and tanks peel most often, turning their abilities inward to protect rather than outward to engage. Effective peeling is what lets a fragile damage dealer survive teamfights, and it is a core part of bot-lane and frontline play.
