Flash Ability

A flash ability is a piece of utility that emits a blinding burst of light, temporarily whiting out the screen of any enemy looking toward it. Phoenix’s Curveball, Breach’s Flashpoint, KAY/O’s FLASH/drive, and Skye’s Guiding Light are well-known examples.

Flashes are central to entering a site: a teammate pops the flash, and the entry player swings the angle while defenders are blind, winning the duel before they can react. Timing matters in both directions — popping a flash too early or facing it yourself simply wastes it, so coordinating flash-and-push call-outs is a fundamental team skill.
