Trading Kills

Trading kills, or “getting the trade,” means immediately killing the enemy who just eliminated your teammate, so the exchange ends even rather than down a player. It relies on teammates standing close enough and watching the same angle to punish whoever wins the first duel.

Good trading is a foundation of teamplay: an entry player can swing aggressively knowing a teammate will trade if they fall, which keeps the team at numerical parity. Teams that consistently trade their entries win the man-advantage battle round after round, while uncoordinated players who push one at a time get picked off for free.
