Lurking
Lurking is the tactic of one player splitting off from the team to roam a quiet part of the map alone. The lurker gathers information about enemy rotations, catches defenders flanking, or sneaks in for a late-round Spike plant while the rest of the team draws attention elsewhere.
It is a patient, high-game-sense playstyle rather than an aggressive one, and it works best when the lurker times their move to the team’s main push. A skilled lurker stretches the enemy thin and turns four-versus-five fights into surprise picks, which is why Sentinels and quiet Duelists often fill the role.
