Ultimate Orb

An ultimate orb is a glowing pickup placed at fixed spots on every Valorant map. Collecting one grants a single ultimate point, and each agent’s signature ultimate requires a set number of points to charge before it can be used.

Besides orbs, points are also earned through kills, deaths, and planting or defusing the Spike. Because orbs offer free progress, contesting them early is a common tactic to charge a game-changing ultimate a round sooner than the enemy. Tracking how many points each side has stored is part of reading when a big ability is about to come online.
