One-tap

A one-tap is a kill scored with a single bullet, almost always a headshot, dropping an opponent before they can react or trade. It is the cleanest possible outcome of a duel and the hallmark of precise aim and crosshair placement.

One-tapping is most reliable with the first, perfectly accurate shot from a weapon at rest, since the initial bullet goes exactly where the crosshair points. After that, recoil opens up the spread. Players practice the timing of a single committed click rather than spraying, especially with rifles and pistols at close to medium range.
