High Ground
High ground is being positioned above your opponent, which in Fortnite is a major advantage: you get clearer sightlines, easier headshots down onto enemies, and more cover options. Fights in build modes often become a “high-ground battle” where each player builds ramps and walls to climb above the other.
Winning that exchange usually decides the fight, so players spend materials aggressively to take and hold the top spot. In No Build modes the same principle applies using the map’s natural hills, cliffs, and rooftops instead of placed structures.
