Turret / Tower

Turrets — also called towers — are the defensive structures that line each of the three lanes and guard the path into a team's base. They automatically fire on enemy minions and champions in range, dealing heavy damage that ramps up the longer they target a single champion.

Each lane has outer, inner, and inhibitor turrets, and destroying them grants gold and opens the map toward the enemy Nexus. Diving under a turret to chase a kill is risky, so towers shape where fights can safely happen. Taking them in order is the backbone of pushing toward a win.
