Economy (Econ)

Economy (often shortened to econ) is the art of managing your gold in TFT. The key mechanic is interest: for every ten gold you hold, you earn one extra gold each round, up to a cap of five bonus gold at fifty saved. Win and loss streaks also pay out bonus gold.

Good econ means deciding when to save for interest and when to spend on leveling or rerolling. Players who manage gold well reach higher levels and stronger boards faster than those who spend impulsively. Economy management is widely considered the single biggest skill gap between beginner and high-ranked players.
