Controller

A Controller is the Valorant agent role responsible for shaping the battlefield with vision-blocking smokes and area denial. Agents like Omen, Brimstone, Astra, Viper, and Harbor cut sightlines so their team can take or hold space without being seen.

Good controller play is the backbone of organised attacks and defences: a single well-timed smoke can isolate a duel or cover a Spike plant. Because the role is built around utility and timing rather than raw aim, it suits players who think in terms of map control, and most balanced teams run at least one Controller every round.
