The Operator (Op)

The Operator, almost always shortened to “Op,” is Valorant’s heavy sniper rifle and its most expensive weapon. A single hit to the body or head is a guaranteed kill, but it is slow to fire and zoom, and it sharply restricts movement while scoped.

The Op is the king of long sightlines: a well-positioned player can hold an entire lane alone, forcing the enemy to use smokes and flashes just to advance. Mastering it — jiggle-peeking, repositioning after a shot, and knowing when its cost is worth it — is a high-skill specialty, and agents like Jett and Chamber are popular precisely because their kits support aggressive Op play.
