Saving
Saving (or "eco saving") means deliberately avoiding a fight in a round that is likely lost, so you survive the round with your gun, armor, and grenades intact. Carrying that equipment into the next round means you spend less, helping the whole team buy full loadouts sooner instead of being forced onto a weak eco round.
Saving is an economic decision, not cowardice: a single saved rifle can swing a team's buy. The trade-off is information and aggression, since a player who hides to save gives up map control. Knowing when to save versus when to take a risky last fight is a core part of CS2's round-economy strategy.
