Smoke Grenade
The smoke grenade deploys a large, lingering cloud that blocks vision for roughly 18 seconds, letting players cut off sightlines, block off bombsite entrances, or screen a push across open ground. In CS2 the smoke is volumetric and reacts to the world: bullets and HE grenades briefly punch transparent holes through it, and a molotov thrown into smoke pushes it back.
Smokes are the backbone of organized play. Teams memorize precise lineups to land one-way smokes and execute coordinated site takes. Smooth smoke usage is a hallmark of experienced players, so practiced utility is part of what gives well-developed CS2 accounts their competitive value.
