Frontline

The frontline is the group of tanky units you position in the forward rows of your Teamfight Tactics board. Their job is to soak enemy damage, hold the line, and buy time for your carries in the back to deal damage safely.

Good frontline units have high health, armor, magic resist, or crowd control, and they are often itemized with defensive gear and shields. A board with no frontline collapses quickly, while a sturdy one can win a fight outright by stalling the enemy. Balancing frontline durability against backline damage, and positioning tanks to meet the enemy first, is a core part of building a winning composition.
