Wild Rift Rank Distribution: How Rare Is Each Rank?

Wild Rift's ranked ladder is a pyramid: most players sit between Iron and Gold, the field thins through Platinum, Emerald and Diamond, and the top tiers (Master, Grandmaster, Challenger and Sovereign) hold only a small fraction of the player base. Riot doesn't publish an official percentage table, but the shape is consistent, and it tells you how rare a given account's rank really is and why higher ranks cost more.

The ranked ladder

Wild Rift has eleven tiers. From bottom to top: Iron, Bronze, Silver, Gold, Platinum, Emerald, Diamond, Master, Grandmaster, Challenger and Sovereign. Each tier from Iron to Diamond has four divisions (IV is the lowest, I the highest). From Master upward there are no divisions; instead, each tier starts at a set number of Ranked Marks.

How Ranked Marks work

You climb by earning Ranked Marks: a win adds a mark and a loss usually removes one, and filling a division's marks promotes you to the next division. In the lowest tiers a defeat doesn't cost you a mark, and Riot's Ranked Fortitude system helps players who consistently have a positive impact reach their true tier a little faster. According to Riot's ranked support page, the marks needed per division rise as you climb:

How the population is shaped

Like most competitive ladders, Wild Rift is bottom-heavy. The broad pattern holds across regions and seasons even as the exact percentages move:

• Iron to Gold: the bulk of the player base. Gold is roughly where committed but casual players settle.
• Platinum and Emerald: a clear step up into the upper part of the ladder.
• Diamond: comparatively rare, made up of dedicated players with strong fundamentals.
• Master to Sovereign: the top. Together these tiers are a small fraction of all ranked players, and each step within them is smaller again.

Treat any exact percentage you see online with caution: Riot doesn't publish a fixed table, the numbers drift every patch, and they differ by region. What stays stable is the shape, with each step up the ladder holding far fewer players than the one below it.

What rank signals on an account
