CS2 Ranks Explained: Premier, Competitive & FACEIT

Counter-Strike 2 measures skill in three separate systems, and a CS2 account can hold a rank in each. Premier is Valve's flagship mode and uses a numeric CS Rating grouped into color tiers. Competitive uses the classic 18-badge ladder, tracked per map. FACEIT is a third-party platform with ten Elo-based levels. When buying a CS2 account, confirm which system a listed rank refers to — the Premier CS Rating is the number most buyers compare.

Premier CS Rating color tiers

Premier sorts CS Rating into seven colors: Gray (0–4,999), Light Blue (5,000–9,999), Blue (10,000–14,999), Purple (15,000–19,999), Pink (20,000–24,999), Red (25,000–29,999) and Gold (30,000+). A higher CS Rating means tougher matchmaking and raises an account's resale value, which is why Premier-ranked CS2 accounts are priced above unranked ones.

How is Valve's Steam Subscriber Agreement different from Riot's ToS?

Steam's Subscriber Agreement prohibits account selling. Take the usual precautions: change the credentials immediately, enable Steam Guard on a new email and phone, and don't link the account to your main account.

Can I trade skins out of a purchased CS2 account?

Steam can put trades on hold after Steam Guard or credential changes, so plan for a settle-in period after purchase before you trade skins out of the account.

Are CS2 skin prices Steam-Community-tracked or third-party?

VAC bans are tied to the Steam account, not the buyer, and they are issued for cheating. An account with a clean VAC history stays clean — unless cheats are used on it after the sale. Standard precautions apply: don't run cheats or third-party tools that modify the game. A permanent ban within 14 days of delivery for violations from before the sale is eligible for a refund under our refund policy.

What regions does CS2 cover?
