QUICK ANSWER

Before you pay for an Apex Legends account, check three things: who can still get in (the EA account's email included, and every linked Steam, PlayStation or Xbox account named, because those are not yours), what the account really has (account level, hours played, other EA games, no EA ban on record) and how you pay (money held until you have checked the account, with a dispute window). Be careful with skin and heirloom claims: no source reports an account's Apex inventory, so only trust what you can see in the game.

Most disappointing Apex Legends purchases fail on one of two points: someone else still had a way into the EA account, or the cosmetics were not what the seller promised. This checklist goes through what to look at, in the order that matters.

1. Control of the account

No EA ban on recordEA can suspend or terminate accounts that break its rules, and a ban history is a warning sign

Our guide is it safe to buy an Apex Legends account? explains why these points decide whether the account stays yours.

2. The account itself: what you can actually verify

  • Account level. The maximum is level 2000, split into four tiers of 500. When an account reaches level 500 of a tier, the level shown resets to 1 for the next tier, so a low number with a different badge can mean a higher total. Ask which tier the account is in.
  • Hours played. More hours usually means more of the free unlocks, Battle Pass rewards and Apex Packs earned along the way, but hours are not an inventory list.
  • Other EA games. Everything on the EA account comes with it, so other EA games and their hours are part of what you buy.
  • EA Play. An active subscription runs until it expires; it is a bonus, not a lasting feature of the account.
  • Account country. Shown so you know where the EA account was registered before you buy.

3. Skins, legends and heirlooms: proof only

No public source reports what cosmetics an Apex Legends account owns. That is why BuyAccount listings do not show skins, legends or heirlooms at all. If a seller elsewhere promises a specific heirloom or a rare skin, ask for proof in the game, such as a live video of the inventory with the account name visible. Old screenshots are easy to reuse.

Also keep in mind that a small number of items are tied to one platform. EA lists PlayStation Plus and Xbox Gold items, among others, as limited to the platform they were earned on, so they may not appear when you play somewhere else.

4. Paying and delivery

  • Pay through a service that holds the money, so the seller is only paid after you have checked the account.
  • Check the level and the linked accounts against the listing before you confirm delivery.
  • Unlink platforms you don't own and change the password on day one.

On BuyAccount payment is held until you confirm the account works, and the 14-day buyer protection covers a mismatch, failed delivery or an account that stops working through the seller's fault. How it works shows each step, and how to secure the account after buying covers what to do once it is yours.

Frequently Asked Questions

Is a higher level always better?

Not on its own. Level shows time played and earned rewards, but it says nothing certain about cosmetics. Compare level, hours and the other EA games, and treat cosmetics as unknown unless you have seen them in the game.

Does Ranked rank come with the account?

Don't count on it. EA keeps ranked leaderboards locked to each platform, so a rank earned on one platform is not a promise for the one you play on. Don't pay extra for a rank badge in a screenshot.

What if the account doesn't match the listing?

Don't confirm delivery. Open a dispute within the buyer-protection window instead.
