What is the Renegade Raider?

The Renegade Raider is a Rare outfit from the Storm Scavenger set. It was sold in the Chapter 1 Season 1 Season Shop, which ran from 8 November to 13 December 2017: you had to reach level 20 that season before you could buy it for 1,200 V-Bucks. Its matching pickaxe, Raider's Revenge, unlocked at level 35 for 1,500 V-Bucks. For seven years the pair was the best-known proof that an account dated from Fortnite's first season.

Did the Renegade Raider come back?

Yes. On 20 December 2024 Epic reopened the Season 1 items in an OG Season Shop during Fortnite OG. Instead of a level, each item needed an XP target:

• Aerial Assault One glider: 500,000 XP
• Aerial Assault Trooper: 1,000,000 XP
• Renegade Raider: 1,500,000 XP
• Raider's Revenge: 2,000,000 XP

That first run ended on 31 January 2025, and the OG Season Shop has come back since. The comparison rows tell the story: accounts with Renegade Raider ask about the same as other accounts of their size. Listing data doesn't show whether a copy is a 2017 original, and only 3 of the 119 listings mention the skin in their title, which suggests most sellers don't treat it as the headline item. A verified original, with the black-and-gold style and a 2017 creation date, is a different and much scarcer item. How to tell an original Renegade Raider from a re-release copy

• Ask for the black-and-gold style on a live video. Only 2017 owners have it. A copy bought in the OG Season Shop doesn't.
• Check the account's age. An original belongs to an account that was active in late 2017. A seller who claims an original should be able to show early purchase history or other proof of a 2017 account.
• Look at the pickaxe too. Raider's Revenge returned as well, and 2017 owners received an exclusive style for it, so the same check applies.
• Be wary of titles that promise "OG Renegade Raider" without proof. After the re-release, the name alone proves nothing.

What else moves the price

Because the skin itself is no longer scarce, the rest of the account does most of the work:

• Season 2 Battle Pass skins. Rewards such as the Black Knight can't return under Epic's current policy. Accounts that include the Black Knight had a median asking price of about $188 in the same snapshot; see our Black Knight value guide.
• Promo exclusives. Skins that were never sold in the shop, such as the Fortnite Galaxy Skin or IKONIK, carry a measurable premium.
• Locker size. Accounts with 200 or more skins had a median of about $94, twice the 100–199 group.

• Verify the style and the account's age before paying, especially if the price assumes an original.
• Ask for full original email access. You need the inbox the Epic account was made with, or the seller can reset the password and take the account back.
• Use a marketplace with escrow that holds payment until you confirm the account works.
• Secure it immediately: change the email, then the password and recovery email, then turn on authenticator 2FA.
