Valorant Night Market Explained

The Valorant Night Market is a personal discount store that opens a few times a year and gives every player six skins they don't own, each discounted by 10% to 49%. You reveal the cards one by one, you can't reroll them, and some skins are never eligible: Exclusive and Ultra-edition skins, very recent releases, and melees priced above 3,550 VP. It's the cheapest way to add premium gun skins to an account without waiting for a bundle to come back.
What the Night Market is and how it works
Outside the Night Market, Valorant skins appear in your four daily offers and in featured bundles, both at full Valorant Points (VP) price. When the Night Market is live, a new store tab shows six face-down cards. Each card flips to reveal a skin and a discount picked for your account.
A few rules shape what you see:
- Only skins you don't own appear. Every account gets its own six offers.
- You can't choose or reroll. The selection is fixed for the whole event.
- Some skins are excluded. Exclusive and Ultra-edition skins never appear, and neither do skins released within the last two Acts. Melee skins can appear only if they cost 3,550 VP or less, so the more expensive knives are out.
- Discounts are between 10% and 49%. Whatever a card shows is the price for the length of the event.
Because the offers are random, it helps to know which skins are worth grabbing. Our Valorant skin tier list ranks the lines by prestige and effects.
What the discounts mean in VP
Here is what each discount band means for a Premium skin that normally costs 1,775 VP:
| Discount band | Price of a 1,775 VP skin |
|---|---|
| 10–19% | About 1,440–1,600 VP |
| 20–29% | About 1,260–1,420 VP |
| 30–39% | About 1,080–1,240 VP |
| 40–49% | About 905–1,065 VP |
The takeaway: a deep discount on a skin you genuinely want is worth buying on sight, because you may not see it discounted again for a long time. A small discount on a skin you're lukewarm about is usually a skip.
When to expect the Night Market
Riot doesn't publish a fixed calendar, and the timing varies from year to year. What has stayed consistent:
- A few times a year, not every month.
- A limited window. Once it opens, you usually have a couple of weeks to decide before the tab disappears. The store shows exactly how long is left.
- No advance notice of your offers. Nobody can tell you in advance which skins you'll get.
Keep a modest VP balance so a strong card doesn't slip away while you top up, but don't overstock: buy VP only once a card is actually worth it. At US store prices, 1,000 VP costs $9.99. Our guide to how to get Valorant skins covers every other channel.
How to make the most of every Night Market
- Flip all six before buying anything. Reveal every card first so you can compare.
- Prioritize skins you'll actually use. A discount on your main Vandal or Phantom skin matters far more than a deep cut on a sidearm you never buy.
- Weigh the discount against the skin. A modest discount on a skin you love can beat a big discount on a forgettable one.
- Don't force a purchase. Some markets simply don't roll anything worth buying, and passing is a perfectly good outcome.
How the Night Market affects account value
Every skin you buy in the Night Market becomes a permanent part of your locker, and the locker is what drives a Valorant account's value. A long-played account that has worked through several Night Markets often carries a broader collection than its owner's total spend would suggest.
The Night Market never includes the rarest items, though. Champions skins, Battle Pass weapon skins and Ultra editions aren't eligible, so the lockers with the highest value are built elsewhere. A few times a year, on no fixed schedule. When it's live, a Night Market tab appears in the store with a countdown showing how long it has left.
What is the maximum Night Market discount?
49%. Each card shows a discount between 10% and 49%.
Can you get knives in the Night Market?
Sometimes. Melee skins can appear if they cost 3,550 VP or less. More expensive knives, and all Exclusive and Ultra-edition skins, are excluded.
