Not all Valorant skins are created equal. Some lines cost a lot of Valorant Points, carry custom animations and finishers, and define an account's value; others are clean budget picks. This is our 2026 Valorant skin tier list: the best Vandal and Phantom lines ranked by prestige, effects and collector demand, using the editions Riot actually sells.

How we tier Valorant skins

Valorant sells skins in five editions: Select (875 VP per weapon), Deluxe (1,275 VP), Premium (1,775 VP), Exclusive (2,175 VP) and Ultra (2,475 VP). The edition largely sets the price and the effect level. Premium and higher skins usually add upgrade levels, variants and finishers, unlocked with Radianite. Our tiers weigh three things: cost and edition, effects and finisher, and collector demand. Knives are a category of their own; see our best Valorant knife skins guide.

S-Tier — the showpieces

The most prestigious, most animated, most account-defining lines:

  • Champions Vandal and Phantom: one per year since 2021, alternating between the two rifles. They're sold only around the world championship, and Riot hasn't re-sold older editions, which makes them the strongest collector signal of all.
  • Elderflame Vandal: the iconic dragon skin from Valorant's first Ultra-edition collection (2020).
  • RGX 11z Pro Vandal and Phantom: bright, color-shifting variants.
  • Spectrum Phantom: the Zedd collaboration, with custom audio and effects.
  • Glitchpop Vandal and Phantom: loud neon glitch-art with over-the-top finishers.

A-Tier — premium favorites

Fan-favorite lines that are always in demand and look fantastic without quite reaching Ultra-tier spectacle:

  • Reaver Vandal and Phantom: arguably the best-loved aesthetic in the game.
  • Prime Vandal and Prime//2.0 Phantom: the clean gold-and-white classic. You can browse accounts with the Prime Vandal directly.
  • Sovereign, Oni and Ion: premium staples with strong, restrained effects.
  • Gaia's Vengeance and Sentinels of Light: themed lines with great finishers.
  • Protocol 781-A Phantom and Radiant Crisis 001 Phantom: animated, gimmick-rich showpieces.

B-Tier — solid mid-range

Good-looking skins that upgrade the feel of a weapon without a premium price or heavy effects:

  • Singularity, Araxys, Magepunk, Forsaken and Prelude to Chaos: distinctive themes.
  • Recon, Ruination, Xenohunter and Nebula: clean designs with lighter effects.

C-Tier — budget and Battle Pass

Select and Deluxe skins and Battle Pass rewards. They tidy up a weapon's look cheaply but add little resale value: useful for filling out a loadout, not for driving an account's price. The VALORANT GO! line and most Battle Pass skins live here. Battle Pass weapon skins aren't sold again after their pass ends, so they're scarce, but they're rarely what buyers pay extra for.

How skin tiers translate to account value

Every Valorant skin is locked to the account that bought it, so a locker full of S- and A-tier lines is something a buyer can't rebuild cheaply, and some of it, like past Champions bundles, can't be bought at all anymore. Prestige and resale value aren't the same thing, though. On our marketplace on 25 September 2026, accounts that included the Kuronami Vandal had a median asking price of about $277 (55 listings), the Reaver Vandal about $218 (149), the Prime Vandal about $208 (121) and the Elderflame Vandal about $163 (51). These are whole-account asking prices, so the rest of the locker matters as much as the headline skin. Frequently Asked Questions

What is the best Valorant skin line?

For prestige and effects, the Ultra-edition and event lines top most lists: Elderflame, RGX 11z Pro, Glitchpop, the Zedd Spectrum and the yearly Champions skins. Reaver and Prime are the best-loved Premium lines.

Are expensive Valorant skins worth it?

For gameplay, no: skins don't affect performance. For account value, the picture is mixed. Rare items like Champions skins add clearly, while expensive bundles that keep returning to the store add less than their price suggests.

Which Valorant skins are the rarest?

The yearly Champions Vandal and Phantom skins, because each is sold only during its Champions event and older editions haven't returned. Expired Battle Pass weapon skins are also scarce. Our guide to the rarest Valorant skins covers the full list.

Do skins affect Valorant account value more than rank?

In our listings, the locker explains most of the price spread, especially knives and Champions items. A placed rank adds to the price as well, so the most valuable accounts combine both.
