Rarest and Most Expensive Valorant Skins in 2026

The honest answer: most Valorant skins aren't truly rare. Skins from premium lines like Reaver, Elderflame, Prime and Glitchpop keep turning up in players' daily store offers, however expensive they are. Real rarity in Valorant is a narrow category: the yearly Champions bundles, expired Battle Pass weapon skins, and a few early rewards such as closed-beta player cards. If you're judging an account's collector value, that distinction matters more than price tags.
Why "rare" works differently in Valorant
Valorant sells skins through a rotating store: four random daily offers, limited-time featured bundles and the occasional Night Market. Because the daily offers draw from the wider catalog, a skin you missed usually comes back around eventually. That's very different from games where retired items are locked away for good.
Valorant skins are also account-bound: they can't be traded or transferred. For a skin that keeps rotating, that doesn't matter much, because you can wait for it. For a skin Riot no longer sells, an account that holds it is the only way to get it. The practical rule: tie rarity to one-time events, yearly esports bundles and the game's earliest days, not to price.
Champions bundles: the closest thing to a true rarity
Riot releases one Champions bundle a year, sold around the Valorant Champions world championship, and it hasn't brought an older edition back to the store. Each bundle has one rifle and one melee, and the rifle alternates between the Vandal and the Phantom:
| Edition | Rifle | Melee |
|---|---|---|
| Champions 2021 | Vandal | Karambit |
| Champions 2022 | Phantom | Butterfly Knife |
| Champions 2023 | Vandal | Kunai |
| Champions 2024 | Phantom | Blade |
| Champions 2025 | Vandal | Butterfly Knife |
A 2026 edition followed the same model. The bundles also carry esports weight: Riot shares half of the net proceeds with its VCT partner teams, with extra shares for the teams that qualify for Champions.
The oldest editions are scarce on the account market too. On our marketplace on 25 September 2026, only 2 listings included the Champions 2021 Vandal and 7 the Champions 2021 Karambit, against 29 with the Champions 2025 Vandal. The 77 listings with at least one Champions skin had a median asking price of about $314, against about $160 for the 976 listings without one. These are asking prices for whole accounts, not completed sales.
Other limited items
- Expired Battle Pass weapon skins. They aren't sold again once their pass ends. They're usually simple in design, but early passes had a smaller player base, so fewer accounts own them. Older pass accessories (cards, sprays, buddies and titles) can return in the Accessory Store for Kingdom Credits; the weapon skins don't.
- Closed-beta rewards. Closed-beta player cards went only to players who took part in the 2020 closed beta, and they haven't been offered since.
- Collaboration skins. Lines made with outside partners, such as the Spectrum bundle created with Zedd, depend on those partnerships, so their future availability is less predictable.
- Prime Gaming drops. Time-limited subscription rewards that many players missed.
The most expensive skins (expensive isn't rare)
Price and rarity aren't the same, and mixing them up is the most common mistake. The top store editions are Exclusive (2,175 VP per weapon) and Ultra (2,475 VP per weapon, with Ultra bundles at 9,900 VP and Ultra melees at 4,950 VP). Those lines are expensive, but their skins keep coming back to players' stores:
- Elderflame: the first Ultra-edition collection (2020), with dragon weapons.
- Reaver and Reaver 2.0: among the best-loved Premium lines.
- Prime and Prime//2.0: the gold-and-white classics.
- Oni and Ruination: popular themed lines. Ruination is Riot's own League of Legends-inspired design, not an outside licence.
An expensive locker still has real value, because a buyer would otherwise pay store prices to rebuild it. But the collector premium comes from the items Riot no longer sells. Our Valorant skin tier list ranks the lines by prestige, and our knife skin ranking covers melees.
| Skin / bundle | Rare or just expensive? | Why |
|---|---|---|
| Champions skins (2021 onward) | Rare | Sold once per year; older editions haven't returned |
| Closed-beta cards | Rare | Given only to 2020 closed-beta players |
| Expired Battle Pass weapon skins | Rare (usually simple designs) | Not sold again after their pass |
| Elderflame / Reaver / Prime / Oni | Expensive, not rare | Skins keep reappearing in daily offers |
| Collaboration skins (e.g. Spectrum) | Uncertain | Depends on the partnership |
| Prime Gaming drops | Mildly scarce | Time-limited subscription rewards |
How a rare-skin collection raises account value
Because Valorant skins are account-bound, the account market is the only place a player who missed a Champions bundle can ever get it: for those items, the account is the skin. Experienced buyers check which Champions items are present, whether older years are included, whether skins are fully upgraded, and what rank comes with them. For the full valuation picture, read how much a Valorant account is worth, and browse Valorant accounts to see which lockers are listed.
Frequently Asked Questions
Do Valorant skins come back to the store?
Most do. The daily offers draw from the wider catalog, so skins from past bundles keep reappearing. The main exceptions are the yearly Champions bundles, expired Battle Pass weapon skins and early rewards like closed-beta cards.
Are Champions skins actually rare?
By Valorant's standards, yes. Each edition is sold only around that year's Champions event, and Riot hasn't brought an older one back. Old editions are scarce on the account market too: on 25 September 2026, only 2 of our 1,053 Valorant listings included the Champions 2021 Vandal.
What is the most expensive Valorant skin?
At store prices, Ultra-edition skins cost the most: 2,475 VP per weapon, 4,950 VP for an Ultra melee and 9,900 VP for an Ultra bundle. On the account market, accounts with Champions skins ask the most, because those skins can't be bought from Riot anymore.
Do rare skins affect gameplay?
No. Valorant cosmetics never give a gameplay advantage; they change only how weapons look and sound. For building a collection without overspending, see how to get Valorant skins.
Whether you're hunting a Champions skin or pricing your own, the key is separating expense from scarcity. Estimate any locker with the Valorant value calculator, or apply as a seller to list a rare collection with full inventory disclosure.
