Valorant Radianite Points Explained

Radianite Points (RP) are Valorant's skin-upgrade currency: they unlock a skin's extra levels (new animations, effects, sounds and finishers) and its color variants. Each upgrade level typically costs 10 RP and each variant 15 RP, so fully upgrading one Premium skin takes roughly 40–80 RP. You earn Radianite through the Battle Pass and can also buy it with Valorant Points. Owning a skin is one purchase; making it look and sound its best is a separate Radianite spend.
What Radianite Points are
When you buy a weapon skin, you usually get its base form. Premium and higher-edition skins then have upgrade levels layered on top, and each level adds something: a fancier equip animation, new firing effects and audio, an animated kill banner or a finisher. Unlocking those levels costs Radianite, not more Valorant Points. Radianite also unlocks variants, the alternative color schemes many skins offer.
Think of it as two layers: Valorant Points (VP) buy the skin, and Radianite Points polish it. A skin at level 1 with no variants works exactly the same in a match; it just looks and sounds plainer than the fully upgraded version.
How to earn and buy Radianite
- The Battle Pass. Each Act's pass includes Radianite Points among its rewards, so playing through an Act builds up a supply over time.
- Buying it with VP. The store sells Radianite in fixed bundles for VP. It's the fast route when you want to upgrade a skin right away, but it costs a lot more than earning it through the pass.
Patient players bank Radianite across Acts and spend it when they pick up a skin they love, often one found at a discount in the Night Market. For every other way to get skins, see how to get Valorant skins.
How upgrades work by skin edition
Not every skin uses Radianite the same way; it depends on the edition.
| Edition | Price per weapon | What Radianite unlocks |
|---|---|---|
| Select | 875 VP | Usually little or nothing |
| Deluxe | 1,275 VP | Limited extras on some skins |
| Premium | 1,775 VP | Several upgrade levels (effects, finisher) and color variants |
| Exclusive | 2,175 VP | The full upgrade path, often with unique effects |
| Ultra | 2,475 VP | The full upgrade path with the most elaborate effects |
The practical rule: if a skin has flashy animations and a kill banner, those came from Radianite upgrades. If it's a simple recolor, there's little or nothing to upgrade.
How much Radianite a full upgrade needs
Each upgrade level typically costs 10 RP, and once a skin is fully upgraded, each extra variant costs 15 RP. A Premium skin with three upgrade levels and three variants therefore needs about 75 RP, and most full Premium upgrades land somewhere between 40 and 80 RP. A whole bundle multiplies that across four or five weapons.
- Upgrade the guns you actually use first. Max out your main Vandal or Phantom skin before touching a sidearm you rarely buy.
- Prioritize the top level and one favorite variant. The final level usually adds the finisher, and one variant you love beats three you never switch to.
- Bank Battle Pass Radianite rather than buying it with VP when you're not in a hurry.
Radianite, upgraded skins and account value
Radianite itself isn't a big price driver, but fully upgraded skins are a value signal. Every level and variant on a premium skin is Radianite that was earned or bought, so an account whose top skins are maxed out reflects more time and currency than one with the same skins left at level 1. Owning the skins in the first place matters far more, though. Knives, Champions items and the overall locker are what move an account's price. Frequently Asked Questions
What are Radianite Points used for in Valorant?
Upgrading weapon skins. Radianite unlocks a skin's extra levels (animations, effects, audio and finishers) and its color variants. It doesn't buy the skin itself; Valorant Points do that.
How do you get Radianite Points?
Mainly through the Battle Pass, which includes Radianite among its rewards. You can also buy Radianite in the store with Valorant Points, which is the expensive route.
How much Radianite do I need to fully upgrade a skin?
Roughly 40–80 RP for a Premium skin. Each upgrade level typically costs 10 RP and each variant 15 RP.
Do upgraded skins make an account worth more?
Slightly. Fully upgraded skins show extra invested Radianite, and listings often mention it. But owning premium skins, knives and Champions items in the first place matters far more to the price.
