QUICK ANSWER

A Clash of Clans account moves with its Supercell ID, which logs in with a code sent to its email and has no password. To take over a bought account: log in to the linked email, sign in to Supercell ID in the game with the code, then change the Supercell ID email to your own (Settings, Supercell ID, the cogwheel, Change Email). Supercell has no official transfer between players, so do it on day one, before you confirm the order.

Clash of Clans has no "transfer account" button. Everything rests on Supercell ID: whoever controls the email it is linked to controls the account. This guide shows how Supercell ID works, how to move it to your own email step by step, and how to lock the account to you afterwards.

How Supercell ID works

  • No password. You log in with a verification code that Supercell sends to the Supercell ID's email.
  • Only the newest code works, and three wrong codes in a row block new codes for 24 hours.
  • One email, one Supercell ID. The email you move it to must not already be linked to another Supercell ID.
  • New-device alerts. Supercell emails you when the Supercell ID logs in on a new device.

Step by step: move the account to your email

  1. Open the delivered email inbox and check that you can receive new messages.
  2. In Clash of Clans, open Settings and tap Supercell ID, then log in with the email address. Enter the code that arrives in that inbox.
  3. Tap the cogwheel in the Supercell ID screen and choose Change Email.
  4. Confirm you have access to the current email: Supercell sends a code there.
  5. Enter your own email and the code Supercell sends to it, then follow the prompts.
  6. Check the village against the listing, then confirm the order.

Supercell's help centre notes there is no limit on how many times you can change the email, but email changes can be disabled on accounts it considers unsecured.

Lock the account to you

  • Log out other devices. If you get a new-device email you don't recognise, choose "This is not my device" to log the Supercell ID out on every device.
  • Consider Account Protection. It adds SMS codes and recovery codes with your own phone number. It is permanent: Supercell says it cannot be disabled, only reset to change the number. That is also why you should never buy an account that already has someone else's phone on it.
  • Keep the original email. Supercell support asks for details such as the player tag, the account's level and clan and purchase transaction IDs when someone tries to recover an account, so keep the delivered inbox and your own records.

Common problems

The code doesn't arriveCheck spam, wait a minute and request a new one; only the newest code works. Some email domains are not supported by Supercell ID.

What Supercell says about bought accounts

Supercell's Terms of Service forbid buying, selling and sharing accounts, and its help centre says it cannot provide support for sold or bought accounts. Moving the Supercell ID to your own email doesn't change that; it makes sure you, and only you, control the login. Frequently Asked Questions

Can I transfer a Clash of Clans account between iPhone and Android?

Yes. Supercell ID works on both: log in with it on the new device and the village loads there.

Do I need the seller once the email is changed?

No. After the Supercell ID is on your email, the seller can no longer get login codes.

Does BuyAccount deliver the email?

Yes. Every Clash of Clans listing on BuyAccount comes with access to the email the Supercell ID is linked to and has no phone number linked. Payment is held in escrow until you confirm, under our buyer protection; see how it works.
